On Saturday, 24 March 2018 a rally was held at Wilfrid Laurier University to show support for the victims of the shooting at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida on 14 February 2018.

Bob Jonkman from WR Nonviolence spoke about the meaning of Nonviolence,

and there were spoken-word presentations from the students in the Crossing Borders Program. The event was organized by Rupinder Mangat.
