We really appreciate our volunteers! For all those people who helped make this year’s Day In The Park a success, those who created posters and put them up, organized exhibitors, got permits, put up tents, hauled tables, raised banners, prepared kids’ games, provided information, and cleaned up — this day’s for you!
There will be food, beverages, and snacks. We’ll meet at the Picnic Shelter in Victoria Park Map, only steps from the Day In The Park.

Peace Week began when Conrad Grebel University College initiated a series of community events for the week surrounding the International Day of Peace. Since 2017, Conrad Grebel University College has been opening up this initiative to Kitchener-Waterloo and beyond.
Conrad Grebel University College invites you to continue to make Peace Week a region-wide celebration by attending an event in your community or planning your own event to mark the occasion your way!
Some 2018 Peace Week highlights include a STEAM for Peace event at Waterloo Public Library, a yoga class at Queen Street Yoga, and the Grand River Water Walk. Learn more at Peace Week | University of Waterloo.
Every year WR Nonviolence celebrates the International Day Of Peace by making a human peace sign.
There will be a Peace Song Singalong, reading inspirational messages written by leaders of the Peace Movement such as Martin Luther King and Mahatma Gandhi, and, of course, people working together to display the international symbol for peace.
Instead of creating a Human Peace Sign this year, WR Nonviolence will be holding a “Supplemental” Discussion Night — supplementary to our regular meetings.
Discussion will be wide-ranging: How can we implement a Personal Peace? How can we implement Global Peace? What can we do to overcome the obstructions that prevent Peace?
If time permits, we may form a Human Peace Sign to commemorate the International Day of Peace.
